Stew-Stras, Windsor Meet For Seventh Place, C'land To Play For Fifth at Tri-County Tourney

KANSAS -- Windsor and Stewardson-Strasburg will meet for the third time this season when they square off for seventh place at the Kansas Tri-County Boys Basketball Tournamnet today.

Windsor fell to Hutsonville/Palestine 71-46 in action Monday. Hutsonville/Palestine took a 27-9 opening quarter lead and that was the game.

Alspach scored a whopping 43 points for the winners, hitting 17 field goals, three of those from three-point range, and six free throws.

Windsor was led by Haddock with 12 points and Warner with 11.

Cumberland downed Stewardson-Strasburg 55-36. The Pirates held a slight 15-14 opening quarter lead then led 29-23 at halftime. Cumberland came back with another run, this one 14-4 in the third period.

Magee tallied 16 points for the winners. Stew-Stras was led by Jones with nine points.

Iin other games Monday, Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond downed Westville 45-32 and Paris edged Tri-County 46-45.

Today's games feature Windsor against Stew-Stras at 3 p.m. for seventh place, Cumberland taking on Westville at 4:30 p.m. for fifth place, Tri-County against Hutsonville/Palestine at 6 p.m. for third place and Paris taking on Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hamond at 7:30 for the championship.
