Class 1A Sigel St. Michael Regional

Sigel St. Michael bounced Effingham Sacred Heart in the first game of the Sigel St. Michael Regional Monday evening, 40-12.

In the second contest, Dieterich was a 30-20 winner over Martinsville.

St. Michael and Dieterich will now square off for the championship Wednesday at 6 p.m.

 

Class 2A Palestine Regional

Effingham St. Anthony advanced in the Palestine Regional with a victory Monday evening.

The Bullpups edged Oblong 17-13. St. Anthony held a 6-4 halftime lead then had an 8-1 third period run. Oblong came back in the final period only to fall short.

Katherine Slaughter tallied seven for the winners who improve to 17-3.

In the second contest, Neoga beat North Clay (Louisville) 25-16. Neoga will now take on St. Anthony at 6 p.m. today for the regional championship.

Class 7-2A Altamont Regional

Altamont and Brownstown/St. Elmo will square off for the regional championship at the Altamont Regional.

Brownstown/St. Elmo defeated Nokomis 26-15. BSE held Nokomis scoreless in the opening quarter to take a 4-0 lead. BSE held a 9-6 halftime lead and then pushed ahead 17-9 going into the final quarter.

BSE was led by two players in double digits. Oberlink tallied 12 and C. Wilhour 11.

In the second contest, Altamont blasted Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick 42-18. The winners held a 23-8 halftime lead. Guse tallied 10 of her 15 points in the opening quarter run for the winners. BCCH was led by Wojcik with eight points.

The two winners meet Wednesday evening at 6 for the regional championship.

Class 3A Casey-Westfield Regional

Jasper County and Lawrenceville Parkview claimed victories to advance to the title contest.

Jasper County defeated host Casey-Westfield 40-17 in the opening contest. Abby Stone led the winners with eight points.

In the second game, Lawrenceville Parkview downed Red Hill (Bridgeport), 34-21.

Jasper County meets Lawrenceville Parkview at 6 p.m. today for the regional title.

Class 3A Sullivan Regional

Teutopolis will be playing for a regional championship after winning Monday evening.

The Wooden Shoes beat host Sullivan 34-6. T-town held Sullivan scoreless in the first half for a 20-0 lead. T-town then had a 14-4 third quarter run.

In even scoring, T-town's Olivia Niemerg, Abby Bloemer and Claire Bushur scored eight points each. T-town is unbeaten at 23-0 and will face Shelbyville Moulton at 6 tonight for the championship.

Shelbyville Moulton defeated Arthuir 21-10 in the second contest Monday evening.

At Sullivan

Class 4A Mount Zion Regional

Mount Zion and Charleston will meet for this regional championship.

Mount Zion defeated Tolono Unity, no score was provided. Tolono Unity had beaten Effingham last Saturday. In the second game, Charleston edged Mattoon 28-23.

Charleston and Mount Zion meet at 6 p.m. today for the title.
