St. Anthony, Altamont, CHBC Win In High School Baseball Action

Mahomet-Seymour took a 2-1 lead in the second inning but St. Anthony came back to tie the score in the third then tallied four runs in the fifth and one in the sixth for a 7-2 high school baseball victory Monday.

St. Anthony had only four hits in the contest but was aided by three Mahomet-Seymour errors. 

Connor Roepke and Brock Fearday led the way offensively. Roepke had a double and an RBI while Fearday had two singles and two RBI. Henry Brent added a single and an RBI and Samuel Link an RBI.

Aiden Lauritzen went 6.1 innings, giving up two runs on six hits. He walked five.

Mahomet-Seymour pitchers allowed six walks in the contest.

Noah Butler had a double and drove in two runs for Mahomet-Seymour while Tyson Finch added a double. Camden Heinhold and Gavin Bailey had two singles each.

St. Anthony doesn't return to action until Friday at Casey-Westfield.

At Altamont

Altamont took a 4-0 first inning lead and went on to blank Neoga 9-0 in Monday baseball action.

Altamont tallied single runs in the second, third and fifth and two in the fourth behind a nine-hit attack.

Kade Milleville and Kaidyn Miller had a double each. Miller added an RBI. Kaden Davis and Dillan Elam finished with two singles each. Elam had an RBI. Ethan Robbins had a single and two RBI. Riley Berg had a single and an RBI and Keegan Schultz finished with an RBI.

Altamont had four pitchers with the starter Elam, picking up the victory. He went two innings allowing no hits, two walks and striking out three.

Neoga had two hits, singles by Malak Coy and Carter Young.

At Cowden

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City blanked Ramsey 11-0 in five innings Monday.

The Bobcats edged out to a 1-0 opening inning lead then had a three-run second and a seven-run third.

Carson Evans threw a one-hitter. He also aided his own cause with two singles and three RBI. Conner Nowitzke had a double and two RBI. AJ Radloff finished with two singles. Layne Jones and Blake Mueller had a single and two RBI each. Clayton Wojcik and Wyatt Rueff finished with a single and an RBI each.
