St. A Blanks T-town, Dieterich, CHBC Win In Baseball

Effingham St. Anthony improved to 21-1 in the high school baseball season by blanking Teutopolis 7-0 Thursday.

The Bulldogs had seven hits led by Brady Hatton with a home run and three RBI and Connor Roepke with a single, double and an RBI. Beau Adams and Henry Brent had a double each. Aiden Lauritzen and Brock Fearday had a single and an RBI each and Max Koenig added an RBI.

Lauritzen picked up the pitching win on a four-hitter with one strikeout.

St. Anthony doesn't return to action until the National Trail Conference Tournament Monday.

T-town was led by Garrett Gaddis with two singles. Mick Niebrugge and Conner Hoelscher had a single each. The Wooden Shoes drop to 18-4 on the season.

The Shoes will be back in action Saturday at Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran in a 10 a.m. start for a doubleheader.

At Dieterich

Dieterich scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh to pull out a 6-5 win over Woodlawn Thursday.

Woodlawn held a 1-0 lead in the second and a 2-0 lead in the third. The Movin' Maroons tied the score at 2-2 in the fourth.

Woodlawn came back with three runs to lead 5-2 in the top of the seventh. But Dieterich rallied in the bottom of the frame for the victory.

The Maroons had nine hits and were aided by four Woodlawn errors. Andrew Hall led the way with three singles while Dominic Ashley had a single and double. Carson Baxter and Mason Lidy added a single and an RBI each while Theo Wenske had a single and two RBI.

Lidy threw the last inning for the win, allowing three runs on two hits, three walks and two strikeouts. Gavin Meinhart went six innings, giving up two runs on three hits, two walks and striking out five.

At Dieterich

At Cowden

Neoga held a 3-1 opening inning lead but Dieterich tallied three runs in the bottom of the third and one in the sixth for a 5-3 win Thursday.

The Bobcats had a slight 6-5 edge in hitting. Conner Nowitzke had two singles while Wyatt Rueff, AJ Radloff and Layne Jones had a single each. Radloff and Jones had two RBI each.

Radloff was the winning pitcher, giving up three runs on four hits, no walks and striking out three. CHBC ends the regular season at 4-4 in the National Trail Conference and 11-4 overall.

Neoga outhit CHBC by a 5-4 count. Neoga was led by Colin Blazich with two doubles and three RBI.

At Cowden

North Clay/Clay City fell to Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran Thursday, 6-5.

NC/CC is now 13-9 overall and won't return to action until Monday in the National Trail Conference Tournament hosting Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City.
