Teutopolis Downs St. Anthony 4-3 Friday

The Teutopolis Wooden Shoes handed the St. Anthony Bulldogs their first loss of the fall season Friday, edging St. Anthony 4-3. The game was heard on KJ Country 102.3.

Each team scored twice in the third inning. With one out, Teutopolis got a double from Garrett Gaddis and a double from Davin Worman. One out later, Mitch Koester doubled both runners home.

St. Anthony tied it up in the bottom of the second. With two outs, Aiden Lauritzen singled ahead of a two-run home run by Brock Fearday.

Teutopolis moved back in front with two runs in the top of the fourth. With one out, Carter Hoene walked, Brett Kreke reached on an error, Zac Niebrugge singled home Hoene, and Gaddis reached on a fielder's choice with Kreke scoring.

St. Anthony scored in the fifth on a one-out single by Lauritzen, a walk to Fearday, and a sacrifice fly by Conner Roepke.

That was the end of the scoring, as Teutopolis improved to 15-3 on the fall, while St. Anthony suffered their first loss after 18 wins.

Gaddis had a three-for-four day for the Shoes, while Lauritzen had a three-hit day for the Bulldogs.

Carter Hoene got the win for Teutopolis, while Samuel Link took the loss for St. Anthony.
