The score was knotted at 1-1 between Effingham St.  Anthony and Odin Wednesday in high school baseball action.

But that didn't last long. Odin moved ahead 2-1 in the top of the second before the Bulldogs got untracked and brought home three runs in the bottom of the frame then tallied five in the third and two in the fifth to end the game via the 10-run rule, 11-1.

Beau Adams and Samuel Link combined to throw a one-hitter. Adams went the first two innings allowing one run on one hit, three walks and striking out two. He picked up the win. Link came on to go the final three innings, allowing no hits, no walks while striking out three.

The Bulldogs had 13 hits. Adams also helped the Bulldogs offensively with three singles and two RBI while Aiden Lauritzen led the way with two singles, a double and four RBI. Henry Brent had three singles.

Odin's lone hit was a single by Thompson. The Eagles had four errors.

At Mulberry Grove

Brownstown/St. Elmo took a 2-0 first inning lead and went on for a 12-1 victory over Mulberry Grove Wednesday.

BSE tallied three more in the third, single runs in the fifth and sixth and five in the seventh.

Corey Hoopingarner went six innings to pick up the pitching win. He allowed one run on two hits, two walks and struck out nine.

Adam Atwood led the way offensively for the Bombers with two doubles and an RBI. Lane Stine had two singles and an RBI and Cade Schaub two singles. Gavin Sanders had a single and two RBI.

Brownstown/St. Elmo improved to 1-0 in the Egyptian-Illini Conference and 2-5 overall. The squad returns to action Friday at Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City.

At Ramsey

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg banged out 13 hits while Ramsey had eight errors in a 16-0 victory in four innings Wednesday.

The Hatchets stepped out to an 8-0 opening inning lead then tacked on five in the second, two in the third and finished the game in the fourth with one.

Kendall Morris and Carter Verdeyen had two singles and an RBI each for the Hatchets. Ben Bridges had a single and three RBI while Charley Spour and Xander Beals added a single and two RBI each. Seth Rincker, Blayzz Verdeyen and Oliver Wascher had a single and an RBI each.

Colten Bridges went two innings for the Hatchet for the win on the mound. He allowed no runs on three hits, no walks while striking out two. Aiden Sayers finished out the next two innings allowing four hits, no walks while striking out four.

At Bluford

South Central blanked Webber Township (Bluford), 10-0 in six innings Wednesday behind one hit pitching.

Coen West went five innings, throwing a no-hitter with nine strikeouts and two walks. Zane Montes came on to finish the sixth, allowing one hit, one walk and striking out two.

Meanwhile the Cougars had nine hits in the contest led by C. Smith with two singles, a double and three RBI while Colby Bursott had double and an RBI. Brody Markley and West had a single and an RBI each.
