Dieterich, CHBC, BSE Winners In High School Baseball

DIETERICH -- Dieterich High School kept Ramsey off the scoreboard while tallying an 18-0 baseball win in four innings Thursday.

The Movin' Maroons held a 7-0 opening inning lead then tallied 10 in the second and one in the third.

G. French threw a three-hitter with no walks and six strikeouts for the win on the mound.

Dieterich banged out 13 hits in the contest and was aided by five Ramsey errors. The Maroons also took advantage of eight walks.

Andrew Hall led the way in hitting with two singles and three RBI. Mason Lidy had two singles and two RBI while G. Meinhart had a single, double and an RBI. Carson Baxter added two singles and two RBI. Lucas Westendorf finished with a single and two RBI. Jaxon Funneman, Dominic Ashley and J. Boerngen had a single and an RBI each.

At Cowden

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City blew open its game against Odin in the first inning.

The Bobcats tallied 12 runs then tacked on one in the second and one in the fourth for a 14-0 win in five innings over Odin.

Clayton Wojcik threw two innings, allowing two walks while striking out three in the victory.

Conner Nowitzke had a double and drove in two runs while Gage Lorton and Kyle Lamb added a double and an RBI each and Layne Jones had two singles and two RBI.

At Cowden

At Brownstown

Brownstown/St. Elmo broke a 4-4 opening inning tie and went on to beat Webber Township (Bluford), 10-7 Thursday.

Calin Chandler had two singles and two RBI while Keelan Speagle had two singles and an RBI and Josiah Maxey two singles. Cade Schaub finished with a single and three RBI.

Schaub was the winning pitcher, going four innings, allowing six runs on three hits, three walks while striking out seven. Dodge Willms picked up a save, going three innings, allowing one run, no hits, four walks and striking out three.

BSE evened its record at 1-1 on the season and is back in action Saturday against  Dieterich at 9 a.m.
