Three pitchers held Shelbyville to only one hit as Effingham St. Anthony claimed a 6-1 junior high baseball victory Monday.

Conner Storm picked up the win, going two innings, allowing no runs on no hits, five walks and five strikeouts. Liam McAllaster came on to throw 2.1 innings,allowing no runs on no hits, five walks and two strikeouts. Blake Verdeyen finished out 1.2 innings allowing one run on one hit, two walks and five strikeouts.

The Bullpups had eight hits in the game, five of those for extra bases. Mason Storm had two doubles and drove in a run while C. Storm had a double and three RBI, Jonny Gannaway a double and an RBI and Blake Verdeyen a double. Charlie Hoene had a single and drove in a run.

St. Anthony took a 1-0 opening inning lead then scored over the next four innings.

Shelbyville finished with three errors in the contest.

At Effingham

Effingham outhit Centralia by one hit and the Mustangs came through with 11 runs for an 11-2 win Monday.

The two teams were tied at 1-1 after the first inning and Centralia moved ahead 2-1 in the top of the third. But Effingham broke loose with six runs in the bottom of the frame and never looked back.

Hank Nelson led the Mustangs with two singles, a double and three RBI. Carter Kalber had a single, double and an RBI and Jenner Pals two singles and an RBI. James Wendt added two RBI.

Effingham improved to 4-0 on the season and will play host to Mattoon Wednesday.

Jasper County played host to Cumberland and picked up a 12-2 win in six innings Monday.

C. Mulvey went four innings on the mound for the win, allowing no runs on no hits, no walks while striking out six. C. Kistner came on to throw the final two innings, allowing two runs on one hit, two walks and two strikeouts.

Jasper County scored in all six innings behind 10 hits. J. Ferguson had two doubles and an RBI while J. James had a single, doubles and two RBI, A. Mahaffey a double and two RBI, I. Kessler a triple and an RBI, B. Smith two singles and two RBI and E. Wolf three RBI.

Cumberland's one hit was a single by Evan Davis with an RBI. Bentley Overbeck had an RBI.
