Hendricks returned to the team in May after successful chemotherapy treatment for non-Hodgkin lymphoma.  

Tigers' Rodriguez Turns Down Deal

Detroit Tigers pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez has a chance to play for the Los Angeles Dodgers, but Rodriguez turned down the deal, opting to stay in Detroit.

Nothing against Los Angeles, Rodriguez explained. He and his family are just happy in Detroit. His deal with the Tigers gives him the right to nix the trade.  

Yankees' German Undergoing Treatment

New York Yankees pitcher Domingo German is undergoing treatment for alcohol abuse and is not expected to play again this season, the team announced.

German is officially on the restricted list until he completes treatment.

German pitched the 24th perfect game in major league history on June 28 in a game against the Oakland Athletics. He turns 31 Friday.
