CENTRALIA -- Effingham St. Anthony stepped out to an early lead but then had to hold off Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran for a 4-2 baseball victory Monday.

The Bulldogs scored two runs in the first and tallied a third in the second. CORL came back with two in the bottom of the second but the Bulldogs scored another run in the fourth.

St. Anthony had 10 hits in the contest led by Will Fearday with two doubles and an RBI, Eli Levitt with a single, double and an RBI, Connor Roepke with a double and an RBI, Beau Adams with two singles and an RBI and Will Hoene with two singles.

Sam Link was the winning pitcher, going three innings, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk.

At Centralia

At Odin

Teutopolis pounded out 17 hits and finished with a 20-4 win over Odin in five innings Monday.

Odin held a 4-1 opening inning lead but the Wooden Shoes tied the score in the second and then went on to score seven in the third, seven in the fourth and end the contest with two in the fifth.

Austin Bloemer had a single, double and drove in three runs for the Shoes while Caleb Siemer had three singles and three RBI, Ben Goeckner two singles and an RBI, Brett Kreke three singles and Connor Siemer two singles.

A. Bloemer picked up the pitching win, going two innings, allowing no runs on two hits, no walks with one strikeout.

At Dieterich

Dieterich's Lucas Westendorf threw a two-hitter as the Movin' Maroons blanked Webber Township (Bluford), 8-0 Monday.

Westendorf went the distance on the mound, allowing two runs on two hits, two walks while striking out 12.

Dieterich took the early 2-0 lead n the first then tacked on two in the fourth and four in the fifth.

The Movin' Maroons had eight hits led by Pete Britton with two doubles, a triple and two RBI, Garrett Niebrugge with a double and an RBI and Noah Dill with a single and two RBI. Westendorf had a single and drove in a run.

At Dieterich

At Woodlawn

North Clay/Clay City blanked Woodlawn by a 10-0 count Monday.

The Cardinals improve to 10-9-1 on the season. Ian Jones was the winning pitcher.

North Clay/Clay City is back in action today at Cisne.

 

At Brownstown

In the first game of the Egyptian-Illini Conference Tournament, Brownstown/St. Elmo and Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City played to a 3-3 tie when darkness ended the contest.

The game will resume Wednesday at 4:15 p.m.

The other opener was Mulberry Grove against Ramsey. No score was reported.
