SIGEL -- Sigel St. Michael blanked Altamont, 11-0 in junior high baseball competition Thursday as Alex Mayer and Bryce Niebrugge combined to pitch a no-hitter.

Mayer started and went three innings with one walk and seven strikeouts. Niebrugge came on to finish the final two innings, allowing two walks and striking out six.

The Sharpshooters edged out to a 2-0 first inning lead then tallied three in the third and six in the fourth.

Bryce Niebrugge aided his own cause with a single, double, grand slam home run and five RBI. Mayer also aided the cause with a single, two doubles and two RBI. Isaiah Lee had a double and Adyn Heuerman a single and an RBI.

At Robinson

Jasper County picked up a 12-3 victory over Robinson Nuttall Thursday.

Jasper County stepped out to a 3-0 first inning lead and didn't look back. The winners had eight hits led by Jacob Oldham with a single, double and four RBI and Brock Anderson with a double. Cade Clark had a single and two RBI.

Clark was the winning pitcher, going five innings, allowing three runs on seven hits, two walks and five strikeouts.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City beat Vandalia 12-2 Thursday with the game ending in the sixth via the 10-run rule.

Kendrick Stoldt started for CHBC and went six innings allowing two runs on four hits, four walks and one strikeout for the win.

CHBC had 10 hits as Carter Dilley had two doubles and three RBI, Griffin Vaughn two doubles and an RBI, Porter Lilly a double and an RBI, Cale Reed a double and Stoldt and Casey Macklin a single and two RBI each.

Teutopolis edged Newton St. Thomas in a B contest Thursday.

Leading St. Thomas were Gavin Meinhart with a single and double, Carter Barthelme with two singles and Dylan Earnest with a single.

St. Thomas is now 4-6 on the season.
