Hatchets Down Shoes in Opener for Both Clubs

Windsor/Stew-Stras defeated Teutopolis 6-5 Monday in the season opener for both teams.

The Hatchets built a 4-0 lead by the bottom of the fourth when the Shoes scored their first run. The Hatchets bounced back with two runs in the top of the fifth, but Teutopolis then scored four times in the bottom of the inning to make a 6-5 game, and that's where the scoring ended.

Jordan Wittenberg got the win in relief of his brother, Austin. Jordan gave up all five Teutopolis runs, all of which were unearned. Chaney and Wetherell all got some mound time for the Hatchets. 

Ben Goeckner started for Teutopolis and took the loss, allowing four of the six Hatchets runs. Pruemer and Lawson also pitched for T-Town.
