Bulldogs Sweep Doubleheader; Dieterich Defeats Neoga

The St. Anthony Bulldogs swept a doubleheader Saturday over Christ Our Rock Lutheran at Paul Smith Field.

St. Anthony posted a 9-0 win in the opener, as Brock Fearday and Brock Jansen teamed up on a two-hit shutout. 

Fearday pitched 3-1/3 innings, allowing two hits and a walk while striking out three. Jansen pitched 3-2/3 perfect innings, fanning four. 

At the plate for the Bulldogs: Beau Adams--double and single, three runs scored; Eli Levitt--single, run scored, 2 RBI; Will Fearday--two runs scored; Will Hoene--single, run scored, RBI; Connor Roepke--double, 2 RBI; Tim Seiler--RBI; Aiden Lauritzen--double, RBI; Henry Brent--run scored, RBI; Brock Jansen--single; Max Koenig--single, run scored

The Bulldogs won the nightcap 13-7, as each team pounded out 13 hits. St. Anthony scored six runs in the bottom of the first, and were up 9-4 after four innings. The Bulldogs scored four times in the sixth to win by six after Christ Our Rock scored twice in the seventh.

Max Koenig gave up three runs, two earned, in a third of an inning, walking one and allowing three hits. Nick Ruholl pitched 2-2/3 innings, giving up no runs on one hit and a walk while fanning two. Freshman Aiden Lauritzen pitched two innings, allowing one run on three hits and a walk. Samuel Link went the final two innings, allowing three runs on six hits.

Dieterich defeated Neoga 8-1 in Friday action at Dieterich.

It was 1-1 after one inning, but Dieterich scored in the third, fourth and fifth innings, then added four runs in the sixth inning.

Pete Britton went five innings for the Movin Maroons, allowing the lone run on four hits, walking four while fanning six. Noah Dill pitched two innings, allowing a hit and a walk with a strikeout.
