Effingham had nine hits and was aided by three errors in taking a 6-1 victory over Effingham St. Anthony in junior high baseball competition Thursday.

The Bullpups tallied a run in the top of the third but Effingham moved ahead 2-1 in the bottom of the frame then had a four-run fifth.

Carson Fox hit a two-run homer for the winners in the third inning. Carter Braddy added a single and two doubles. Jenner Pals had two singles and drove in two runs. Andrew Leonard had two singles and an RBI.

Westin Hayes was the winner on the mound, allowing five hits in the seven innings with two walks and five strikeouts.

St. Anthony was led by Will Bierman with a double and Jonny Gannaway with a single and an RBI.

At Effingham

At Altamont

Altamont Lutheran picked up an 11-0 win over  Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City in five innings Thursday.

Altamont Lutheran tallied six runs in the first and ended the game via the 10-run rule.

The homestanders had five hits in the contest led by McManaway with a double and three RBI, Stuemke and J. Frederking with a single and an RBI each and Savage with two RBI.

CHBC was led by Connor Vaughn with two singles. CHBS is back in action hosting Mulberry Grove today.

At Altamont

At Kinmundy

Sigel St. Michael and South Central played to a 3-3 tie in nine innings Thursday.

South Central held a 1-0 lead in the first. St. Michael moved ahead 3-2 in the third. South Central tied in the bottom of the seventh. The game went two extra innings before it was called.

South Central had seven hits led by R. Dodson and T. Jones with a single and double each and L. Shumate with a double and an RBI. G. Shumate added a single and an RBI.

The Sharpshooters were led by Brandt Niebrugge who had two singles and drove in two runs, Alex Mayer and Bryce Niebrugge with a double each and Adyn Heuerman with a single and an RBI.

At Kinmundy
