Dieterich, BSE Capture High School Baseball Wins

RAMSEY -- Dieterich edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead and went on to end its high school baseball game in the fifth inning via the 10-run rule, 11-0 Thursday.

Noah Dill went 1.1 inning, allowing one hit, one walk and striking out one while Garrett Niebrugge came on to throw 3.2 innings allowing no runs, no hits, no walks while striking out 10.

Pete Britton hit a single, a home run and drove in four RBI while Andrew Hall had two singles, a double and two RBI. Jaxon Funneman had a double and an RBI.

At Bluford

Brownstown/St. Elmo broke a 1-1 opening inning tie with a four-run third and added a five-run fifth for a 10-2 win over Wayne City/Webber Township (Bluford) Thursday.

BSE had 10 hits led by Adam Atwood with a single, double and three RBI, Lucas Powell with a single, double and an RBI, Wyatt Stine with two singles and two RBI and Cade Schaub two singles.

Jarrett Pasley picked up the win, going six innings, allowing two runs on two hits, three walks and striking out seven.

BSE improves to 1-1 and returns to action Tuesday at Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg.

At Cisne

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City fell to Cisne in baseball action Thursday, 11-1.

The two teams went scoreless in the opening inning before CHBC moved ahead in the top of the second with a run. But it was short-lived as Cisne came back in the bottom of the frame with six runs, then tacked on two in the third and three in the fifth to end the game via the 10-run rule.

CHBC had three hits, two singles by Jones and a single and an RBI by Mueller.
