MULBERRY GROVE -- Three Effingham St. Anthony pitchers combined to throw a one-hitter as the Bulldogs bounced Mulberry Grove by a 17-0 count in four innings of high school baseball Wednesday.

Eli Levitt was the winning pitcher. He went two innings, not allowing a hit, walking three and striking out six. Brock Jansen went an inning allowing one hit and striking out two. Nick Ruholl went an inning, striking out three.

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs banged out 16 hits. Levitt had three singles and drove in two runs, Aidan Lauritzen had a double, triple and two RBI, Beau Adams a single, double and an RBI, Jansen two singles and two RBI, Brock Fearday two singles and an RBI and Will Hoene a double and four RBI.

North Clay/Clay City tallied a 17-3 win over Odin Wednesday.

Boose picked up the pitching win. The victory was the season-opener for the Cardinals. They return to action Tuesday against Ramsey.
