Effingham St. Anthony put together 10 hits in a 12-2 victory over Altamont in junior high baseball competition Tuesday.

H. Bushur led the way with a single, double and an RBI while G. Wilhour added a double and three RBI, J. Gannaway had two singles and an RBI, Q. Stephens a single and three RBI and M. Waldhoff with two singles.

D. Hann picked up the pitching win. He went four innings, allowing two runs on two hits, five walks and three strikeouts.

The game ended in the fifth via the 10-run rule. The Bullpups tallied three in the first, eight in the third and one in the fourth.

Altamont had two hits, a double by Lee with an RBI and a single by Logue.

At St. Anthony

At Newton

Jasper County scored one run in the first and that was the lone run in the contest as the squad took a victory over Dieterich Tuesday.

Jasper County had three hits, all singles by Nolen Cleaver, Cade Clark and Henry Will.

Hayden Mulvey threw a two-hitter with three walks and nine strikeouts for the win in 6.2 innings. Jacob Oldham came on for the final out after allowing two walks.

Dieterich's hits were singles by G. Meinhart and B. Schottman.

At Newton

At Cowden

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City easily handled Pana by a 13-3 count in five innings Tuesday.

Pana held a 3-2 lead in the top of the second but CHBC came back with six runs in the bottom of the frame, tacked on four more in the fourth and ended the game with two in the fifth.

Kendrick Stoldt had two singles and drove in two runs for the winners while Daithyn Arnold added a double. Isaac Wells and Connor Vaughn added a single and drove in three runs each. Griffin Vaughn added a single and two doubles.

Stoldt also led on the mound, going three innings in relief, allowing no runs on two hits, one walk and three strikeouts.

At Cowden

At Sigel

Sigel St. Michael scored in all five innings in a 13-3 win over Brownstown/St. Elmo Tuesday.

The Sharpshooters took a 2-0 first inning lead, tacked on two in the second and three runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings.

Alex Mayer had two singles, a double and three RBI for the winners while Lyncoln Dittamore had two singles and three RBI and Brandt Niebrugge two singles and an RBI. Lucca Dittamore finished with two RBI.

Victor Walk picked up the win on the mound, going 4.2 innings, allowing three runs on five hits, two walks and striking out five.

Brownstown/St. Elmo was led by J. Gillespie with a double and Ed. Ledbetter with two singles and an RBI.

At Sigel

At Palestine

Newton St. Thomas easily downed Palestine by a 16-0 count Tuesday.

Gavin Meinhart was the winning pitcher, going three innings and striking out eight.

Meinhart also led offensively with a single, double and two walks. Quincy Fulton had  a double and drew three walks. Jarrett PItcher had a single.

St. Thomas is now 2-0 on the season.

 

At Louisville

North Clay/Clay City edged Selmaville by an 8-7 score Tuesday.

The squad improved to 2-2 on the season and is back in action today against Dieterich.
