The St. Anthony Bulldogs scored six runs in the first two innings on their way to a 7-3 baseball victory over the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes.

The Monday game at Paul Smith Field was heard on KJ Country 102.3.

The Bulldogs plated four runs in the first inning.

Eli Levitt singled to start the inning. With one out, Colton Fearday singled and then Will Hoene singled to plate both Levitt and Fearday. That was followed by a mammoth home run over the right field fence by Angelo Mendella and the Bulldogs held a 4-0 advantage.

The Bulldogs extended their lead in the second. Brady Hatton was hit by a pitch to start the inning and Eli Levitt walked, then Fearday singled to make it 6-0.

Teutopolis started to chip away, scoring single runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings. The run in the third came on a two-out home run to right center by Sam Bushur. Mitch Althoff led off the fourth with a single and scored on Evan Waldhoff's base hit. A leadoff walk in the fifth to Logan Roepke was followed by base hits by Cade Buehnerkemper and Althoff to score a third run.

In the meantime, though, St. Anthony got one of those runs back in the fourth on back-to-back doubles by Levitt and Beau Adams.

Teutopolis got two runners on in the seventh, but Eli Link came in and got the final three outs including two strikeouts to preserve the win.

Colton Fearday pitched a dandy game for St. Anthony, finishing with nine strikeouts including the side in the sixth inning. Fearday gave up the three Shoes runs on five hits and only issued one walk.

Derek Konkel took the loss for Teutopolis, allowing the seven Bulldogs runs on 10 hits, a walk and a hit batsman. Caleb Siemer pitched the final inning for the Shoes, allowing a walk but no other damage.

St. Anthony improved to 9-2 on the spring, while Teutopolis is now 6-5.
