FLORA -- Effingham St. Anthony ended this high school baseball contest in the fifth inning via the 10-run rule over Flora Tuesday, 13-0.

The Bulldogs held a 1-0 lead until the third inning, then scored four runs and tallied three in the fourth and finished with five in the fifth.

Brady Hatton threw the one-hitter with two walks and four strikeouts.

St. Anthony had 11 hits led by Eli Levitt, Beau Adams and Colton Fearday with two singles each. Adams led in RBI with three while Fearday had one. Will Hoene finished with two RBI.

At Breese

Teutopolis started slow but took off in the third inning and went on for a 10-7 high school baseball victory over Breese Mater Dei Tuesday.

Mater Dei edged out to a 1-0 opening inning lead then added on three in the second for a 4-0 lead.

But that lead didn't last long as the Wooden Shoes tied the score in the third then moved ahead 8-4 in the top of the fifth. Mater Dei came back to pull within one in the bottom of the fifth but T-town added on two insurance runs in the seventh.

Sam Bushur led the way in hitting with two doubles and two RBI. Caleb Siemer added a single double and two RBI and Caleb Bloemer a double and three RBI. Dylan Pruemer added a single and drove in two runs.

Bushur also was the winning pitcher. He went four innings, allowing four runs on seven hits, no walks and two strikeouts. Siemer picked up the save, going the final two innings, allowing no runs on one hit and two strikeouts

Mater Dei dropped to 4-2 while T-town improved to 3-1. The Wooden Shoes are back in action Saturday at St. Joseph-Ogden against St. Joe and Lisle.

At Altamont

Nathan Stuemke went the distance on the mound to guide Altamont to a 6-2 win over Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran Tuesday.

Stuemke threw seven innings, allowing two runs on three hits, two walks while striking out nine.

Altamont, meanwhile, had a total of 11 hits. The Indians took a 1-0 lead in the second inning then pulled away for good with four runs in the fourth.

In the fourth, Tyler Robbins singled, scoring one run while Kienon Eirhart singled on the first pitch, scoring a run. Eirhart had gotten the Indians on the scoreboard with a double in the second that tallied the opening run. Logan Cornett singled, scoring a run in the fourth and Nathan Stuemke lined out, also driving in a run.

Eirthart finished with two singles, a double and three RBI while Wyatt Phillips had two singles. The other six hits were spread among six players.

At Altamont

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City claimed its first victory over the season by downing Odin, 5-2 Tuesday.

CHBC tallied three runs in the second then tacked on single runs in the fourth and fifth. Odin scored both its runs in the seventh.

Silas Buzzard had a double and drove in two runs for the winners. Carson Evans had a single and two RBI. The other five hits were singles by five different players.

Quaid Schlanser picked up the win on the mound. CHBC is now 1-3 on the season and returns to action Thursday against Mulberry Grove.

At Cowden

At Dieterich

North Clay (Louisville) came calling and went home with a 24-3 win in five innings over Dieterich Tuesday.

The Cardinals ran off to a 9-0 first inning lead, tacked on two in the second and finished the game in the fifth with 13 runs.

North Clay had 16 hits. Holden Clifton had two doubles and three RBI while Carson Burkett had a single, double and an RBI. Dakota Weidner two singles and two RBI, Donnie Zimmerman two singles and an RBI and Logan Fleener and Jacob Hoyt a single and two RBI each.

Dieterich had four hits led by Noah Dill with a single and two RBI and Sam Hardiek with a single and an RBI.

North Clay improved to 7-1 on the season and returns to action Thursday hosting Carmi.

At Newton

Newton edged Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg, 2-1 Tuesday.

The Eagles tallied a run in the first inning. WSS tied in the top of the third. Newton then won the game with a run in the sixth.

Newton had four hits, all singles by Ben Meinhart, Carder Reich, Mason Mulvey and Gage Reynolds. Mulvey and Reynolds had an RBI each.

WSS had two hits, singles by Carter Chaney and Lance Lankow. Tyler Wetherell had an RBI.

Reich was the winning pitcher, allowing one run on two hits, three walks and six strikeouts.

Gavan Wernsing was the tough-luck loser, going 5.2 innings, allowing two runs on four hits, one walk while striking out a whopping 14 batters.

At Newton

At Mulberry Grove

South Central easily handled Mulberry Grove by a 12-1 count in six innings Tuesday.

The Cougars stepped out to a 6-0 opening inning lead then added on two in the fifth and four in the sixth.

South Central had 11 hits in the contest led by Aidan Dodson with a solo home run, Beau Jolliff with a single, double and an RBI, Spencer Johannes with a single, double and two RBI, Ethan Dunn with two singles and three RBI and Anthony Buonaura with a double and an RBI.

Dunn was the winner on the mound, going four innings, allowing one run on three hits, no walks while striking out nine. Brandt Hiestand threw the final two innings, allowing one walk while striking out two.

At Mulberry Grove
