Effingham St. Anthony handled Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City in five innings of baseball action Tuesday, 11-1.

The two teams were tied at 1-1 in the first inning. The Buldogs then tallied five in the second, two in the fourth and ended the game with three in the fifth.

Colton Fearday, Brody Niebrugge, Beau Adams and Brady Hatton had two hits each for the Bulldogs. Fearday had two singles and drove in three runs while Niebrugge had a single, double and an RBI, Adams two singles and two RBI and Hattoon two singles and an RBI. Angelo Mendella added a double and an RBI.

CHBC was led by Quaid Schlanser with a double.

Niebrugge went the five innings, allowing one run on three hits, three walks while striking out six.

The Bulldogs improved to 14-5.

At Dieterich

North Clay (Louisville) finished undefeated in the National Trail Conference regular season by pounding Dieterich, 22-2 in four innings Tuesday.

The Cardinals had 13 hits in the game led by Holden Clifton with two doubles and an RBI, Layton Dawkins a single, double and three RBI, Brady Ingram with two singles and two RBI, Donnie Zimmerman two singles and an RBI, Collyn Ballard a double, Bryton Griffy a single and three RBI and Dakota Weidner a single and two RBI.

Zimmerman was a winner on the mound going three innings, allowing two runs on five hits, no walks and four strikeouts.

Dieterich was led by Noah Dill with a single and double and Pete Britton wth a double and two RBI.

The Cardinals ended with an 8-0 NTC mark and stands at 22-1 overall.

At Brownstown

Brownstown/St. Elmo picked up a 5-3 National Trail Conference win over Neoga Tuesday.

The two teams were tied at 1-1 in the first inning. Neoga edged ahead 2-1 in the third but BSE came back with two in the fourth. Neoga tied in the top of the fifth but BSE came back in the bottom of the frame to score two runs for the win.

Dalton Myers was the winning pitcher in relief. He went 3.1 innings allowing one run on five hits, no walks and three strikeouts.

Adam Atwood had a single, double and drove in two runs while Jarrett Pasley had two singles and an RBI, Dalton Meyrs two singles and Wyatt Forbes a double.

Neoga was led by Luke Romack with two singles, Ryan Koester a triple and Trey Sheehan two singles.

BSE improved to 3-5 in the NTC, 12-6 overall.

South Central proved to be too tough for Altamont as the Cougars won this game in five innings, 13-1 Tuesday.

Dodson was practically untouchable on the mound for the Cougars. He struck out 12 and allowed only one hit.

The two teams were scoreless through the first two innings. South Central broke loose with a nine-run third and tacked on four more in the fourth.

Jolliff and Thompson both had two singles and drove in three runs each. Dodson added two singles and two RBI and Watwood a double and two RBI.

The lone hit for Altamont was a single by Tyler Robbins.
