Teutopolis Defeated Putnam County, Lost to North Clay Saturday

Teutopolis defeated Putnam County 5-3, then fell to North Clay 9-8 in round robin action on Saturday.

For Teutopolis in the Putnam County contest, Sam Bushur singled twice and walked and drove in three runs; Logan Roepke singled and scored; Dylan Pruemer walked three times and scored twice; Ben Goeckner singled, scored and drove in a run; Zac Niebrugge scored a run; and Caleb Bloemer singled.

Bushur pitched six innings, allowing one run and just two hits, walking four but striking out 10. Pruemer pitched the seventh, allowing two unearned runs on a hit and a walk while striking out two.

The contest with North Clay went eight innings, with the Cardinals scoring in the top of the eighth to claim the win. North Clay pounded out 16 hits, while the Wooden Shoes amassed 14 hits of their own. 

For North Clay, Collyn Ballard singled and drove in a run; Donnie Zimmerman singled and scored two runs; Holden Clifton doubled and singled and walked, scored a run and drove in two runs; Brady Ingram singled twice and drove in a run; Logan Fleener singled twice and walked and scored a run; Carson Burkett homered and singled twice, and scored twice; Dakota Weidner singled and scored; Layton Dawkins singled and scored; and Byrton Griffy tripled, doubled and singled, scored a run, and drove in three runs.

For Teutopolis; Sam Bushur singled and walked; Mitch Althoff singled, walked and scored; Kayden Althoff had four singles and scored twice; Derek Konkel homered and singled, scored twice, and drove in three runs;Logan Roepke singled, scored twice, and drove in a run; Caleb Siemer doubled and singled, scored a run, and drove in two runs; Dylan Pruemer doubled and singled twice and drove in a run; and Joey Ruholl walked. 

On the mound for North Clay, Holden Clifton pitched two innings and allowed an unearned run on three hits with a strikeout; Collyn Ballard went two innings and allowed no runs on a hit while walking two and striking out four; Carson Burkett pitched a third of an inning and gave up five runs on six hits; and Layton Dawkins pitched 3-2/3 innings, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk with three strikeouts. Dawkins got the win.

On the mound for Teutopolis, Cade Buehnerkemper pitched 3-2/3 innings and gave up seven runs, four earned, on nine hits with a walk and three strikeouts; Caleb Siemer went 4-1/3 innings, giving up two runs, one earned, on seven hits with a walk and two strikeouts; and Kayden Althoff and was on the mound when the play occurred that led to the North Clay win.
