Effingham St. Anthony took a 4-0 lead in the third inning and added on two more in the fifth for a 6-0 win over Mattoon in junior high baseball competition Tuesday.

The Bullpups had five hits led by H. Brent with a double, triple and three RBI, A. Lauritzen with a double and M. Clark with a single and two RBI.

Lauritzen picked up the win, going six innings, allowing four hits, no walks while striking out 11.

At Teutopolis

The Wooden Shoes of Teutopolis ripped out to a 5-2 opening inning lead and went on to down Charleston, 9-4 Tuesday.

T-town had eight hits in the contest led by Isaac McWhorter with a double and Jason Kreke and Inman Wendt with two singles each.

Wendt picked up the pitching win.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City hitters had a total of 18 hits and 27 RBI in a 31-0 trouncing of Ramsey Tuesday.

With a nine-run first, CHBC then had a 15-run second and a seven-run third.

CHBC's Connor Vaughn and August Cosart combined to throw a no-hitter.

Cosart had three singles, a double and drove in five runs. Kale Hardimon had three singles and four RBI while Clive Schlanser had three singles and three RBI, Connor Vaughn two singles and five RBI, Kendrick Stoldt two singles and three RBI and Iaac Miller two singles and three RBI.

CHBC is now 5-9 on the season.

Sigel St. Michael jumped on board in the first inning with a run, then talled single runs in the second and fifth for a 3-1 win over Neoga Tuesday.

The Sharpshooters had four hits led by Alex Mayer with two singles and an RBI and Davin Worman with a single and an RBI.

Mayer threw a three-hitter with two walks and 10 strkeouts.

South Central trailed Flora Floyd Henson 2-1 until the sixth then tallied two runs to claim a 3-2 victory Tuesday.

Both teams had four hits. South Central was led by Luke Shumate with two singles. 

Hudson Moore went 6.1 innings allowing two runs on three hits, three walks and five strikeouts for the win on the mound.
