South Central claimed a junior high baseball victory over Altamont, 15-0 in three innings Thursday.

 

South Central stepped out to a 4-0 opening inning lead then had a six-run second and a five-run third.

C. Guerrettaz and K. Harrell combined for a no-hitter. Guerrettaz went two innings allowing two walks while striking out five. K. Harrell finished out the final inning.

At South Central

Brownstown/St. Elmo downed North Clay (Louisville), 10-7 in Thursday play.

BSE tallied single runs in the first, second and third innings. The score was tied at 3-3 after three innings. BSE then had a three-run fourth and sixth around a single run in the fifth.

L. Powell had a solo home run for the winners.

Dieterich took the early lead and never looked back in an 18-10 win over Sigel St. Michael Thursday.

Dieterich held a 5-3 opening inning lead and led 10-4 after three.

Both teams had 14 hits. Dieterich was led by A. Hall with a single, three doublesa nd four RBI, C. Baxter with a single, double and three RBI; G. French with a single, double and four RBI, G. Goeckner with a single and double and J. Boerngen with two singles and two RBI.

The Sharpshooters were led by Bryce Niebrugge with three singles, a double and two RBI, Alex Mayer with two singles and a double, Brant Niebrugge with three singles and two RBI and Davin Worman with a single, double and two RBI.

At Newton

Casey-Westfield came calling and handed Newton St. Thomas an 8-1 loss Thursday.

The score was tied at 1-1 after the first inning but the Warriors plated five runs in the bottom of the second and never looked back.

Quincy Fulton led the Saints with two singles and an RBI. 

St. Thomas is now 2-2 on the season and back in action Saturday, hosting Dieterich.

 

At Newton

Jasper County came through with a run in the bottom of the seventh to edge Flora Floyd Henson, 9-8 Thursday.

Jasper County held a 5-2 lead through four innings. Flora tallied a run in the fifth. Jasper County then held an 8-3 lead going into the seventh. Flora tallied five runs to tie the score before Jasper County won.

Dominic Baltzell had three singles and two RBI while Reed Tharp had two singles and two RBI and Nolan Cleaver two singles and an RBI.

Drake Wolf picked up the pitching win going .33 allowing one run on two hits, one walk and one strikeout.
