Spencer Phillips and Jaclyn Stephens were married Friday in Denver.

Stephens, the daughter of Hank and Debbie Stephens of Effingham, and Phillips were married at the St. Louis Cardinals vs. Denver Rockies game Friday.

The couple had players witness their marriage and received autographs on the back of their marriage license. Witnesses were the Cardinals' Adam Wainwright and Dylan Carlson.

The couple live in Fort Collins, Colorado where Stephens is a professor at Colorado State University and Phillips is an administrator for a charter school in the area.

"She's a lifetime Cardinals fan as is Spencer," said Stephens dad, Hank. "Spencer grew up in Tucson, Arizona and his father was a huge Cardinals fan.

"We were just out there the week before and they told us they were going to try and do this. It's all over Facebook and people are having a lot of fun with it."

Jaclyn and Spencer made a sign that said, 'We're getting married right now and would you give us some autographs.'

"When they walked in the ballpark, someone from the Rockies saw their sign and told them where they needed to go and alerted the Rockies staff and the Cardinals players," said Hank Stephens. "We recorded the game in hopes of seeing something. The Cardinals tweeted something out and the announcers talked about it for about two minutes and announced what the bride was wearing.

"They thought they might get some attention and I think they got more than they expected."

St. Louis' Alex Reyes autographs the back of the marriage certificate.

A Colorado Rockies player also signed the back of the marriage certificate.
