The Teutopolis Wooden Shoes posted a 5-4 eight-inning win over the St. Anthony Bulldogs on a busy baseball Thursday.

In a game heard on KJ Country 102.3 and www.kjcountry.com, the Bulldogs broke on top with a run in the bottom of the first inning. Eli Moore's double drove home Angelo Mendella, who had reached on a walk.

The Shoes tied the game in the third. Dylan Pruemer doubled to lead off the inning, then scored on an error.

The Bulldogs came right back in the bottom of the frame to take a 3-1 lead. After back-to-back walks to Eli Levitt and Logan Antrim to start the inning, Mendella sacrificed both runners into scoring position and then Colton Fearday singled both runners home.

Teutopolis tied the game in the fifth on the long ball, getting home runs from both Evan Addis and from Derek Deters to tie the game. It was Addis' third home run in two games.

The Wooden Shoes took their first lead of the day in the eighth. With one out, Kayden Althoff singled, Evan Wermert walked, and Andy Niebrugge drove both runners home with a double down the line to make it a 5-3 game.

The Bulldogs weren't done, as Fearday homered to right in the bottom of the eighth to bring St. Anthony within 5-4. One out later, Brody Niebrugge singled, but the Shoes escaped any further damage and claimed the extra-inning win.

Addis got the win for Teutopolis to improve to 3-1 on the season, with Hayden Althoff picking up the save. Fearday took the loss in relief, his first of the season after four wins.
