Neoga, Altamont, South Central Nab Victories

NEOGA -- Neoga High School took a 2-0 second inning lead over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City in National Trail Conference baseball action then had to hang on for a 12-9 victory Thursday.

CHBC came back in the third to move ahead 3-2 and tallied one in the top of the fourth. but Neoga went on a run, scoring seven and led 11-4 heading into the sixth. CHBC tallied three then mounted another comeback with two in the top of the seventh only to fall short.

Neoga finished with eight hits. Kaden Young had two singles, a double and an RBI while Brady Reynolds had a single, double and an RBI. Nate Lacy chipped in with a double.

CHBC outhit Neoga 12-8 and was led by Seth Doty with two singles, a double and an RBI, Quaid Schlanser with two doubles, Mason Manley with a double and Silas Buzzard with two singles and two RBI.

At Altamont

Altamont pounded out 19 hits and trounced Ramsey, 20-1 in a non-conference contest Thursday.

The Indians stepped out to a 5-0 opening inning lead, had a seven run second and an eight run third, ending the game in the fourth inning.

Bradin Baucum had two doubles, a triple and drove in three runs while Mason Robinson had a double and triple, Brayden Stuemke two singles and an RBI, Kaden Eirhart a triple and an RBI and Zeke Rippetoe and AJ Kopplin with a double each. Kopplin added an RBI. Logan Cornett had two singles.

Hayden Siebert was the winning pitcher going three innings, allowing three hits, one run and striking out three. Jared Hammer started the game going one inning allowing no hits while striking out three.

At Cisne

South Central's Spencer Johannes picked up the win on the mound with a no-hitter over Cisne in a non-conference contest Thursday.

Johannes went four innings, did not walk a batter and struck out 10. Sebastian Cowger came on to finish out the sixth inning allowing one hit, two walks and striking out five.

The Cougars had eight hits led by Chase Dodson with two singles, a double, home run and four RBI while Beau Jolliff added a home run and two RBI.

Cisne's one hit was a single by Jesse Milner.
