Effingham Sacred Heart defeated Neoga, 16-1 in junior high baseball action Tuesday.

The Shamrocks had 10 hits in the game. Sparks had a single, double and an RBI while Wallace had a single, double and three RBI. Traub also finished with a single, double and three RBI. Borries had a single, double and two RBI.

Borries was credited with the win on the mound, striking out eight and only allowing two hits over four innings.

At Palestine

Newton St. Thomas came back from a 4-0 first inning deficit to take down Palestine, 13-8 in junior high baseball action at Palestine Tuesday.

 

The Saints tallied 14 hits in the contest led at the plate by Quincy Fulton and Landon Blake. Fulton had three hits while Blake had two and both players drove in three runs.

The top pitchers for the Saints were Fulton and Carter Barthelme. St. Thomas improves to 1-1 on the season.
