Six More MLB Players Test Positive

Major League Baseball’s Chicago White Sox, Washington Nationals, Pittsburgh Pirates and Arizona Diamondbacks announced Sunday that two of their players each had tested positive for the coronavirus.

They are: Pirates reliever Blake Cederlind and outfielder Socrates Brito; Diamondbacks relief pitchers Silvino Bracho and Junior Guerra; and two unnamed players on both the White Sox and Nationals.

The St. Louis Cardinals also said third baseman Elehuris Montero tested positive.

 

Cleveland Manager Says Name Change Needed

Cleveland Indians manager terry Francona thinks the MLB team should change its controversial name, saying Sunday, “I think it’s time to move forward.”
Francona’s comments came two days after the Indians said they were determining the “best path forward with regard to our team name.”

Also on Friday, the NFL’s Washington Redskins said they are reviewing their team name and logo. Head coach Ron Rivera also said he thinks their name should change.
