Dieterich High School broke a 5-5 tie with a four-run fourth and finished out with a 13-5 win over Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg in baseball action Monday.

 

The Movin' Maroons had nine hits led by Cole Niebrugge with a single, double and three RBI and Cory Gephart and Dalton Will with a double each. Will had two RBI while Gephart added one.

The Hatchets were led by Logan Greuel with two doubles and three RBI and Gavan Wernsing with three singles, a double and two RBI. Beau Bennett added a single and double.

South Central trailed Odin 2-0 until the sixth inning then tallied six runs for a 6-2 victory Monday.

The Cougars had seven hits led by Hunter Brandt with a double and three RBI.

Chase Dodson picked up the pitching win coming on in relief and going 2.1 innings, allowing no hits, two walks and striking out five.

Cumberland picked up an 8-3 victory over Villa Grove in action Monday.

The game was scoreless through four innings before the Pirates tallied three runs in the fifth, two in the sixth and three in the seventh.

Cumberland had nine hits led by Justin Brown with a single, double and an RBI, Ross Hemmen with a double and an RBI, Dayton Mitchell with a double and Brayson Shew with two singles and an RBI.

Shew was the winning pitcher, going six innings, allowing two hits, one walk and striking out 14.
