TEUTOPOLIS -- Altamont and Teutopolis split a high school baseball doubleheader Thursday.

Altamont won the opener 5-2 in eight innings. T-town held a 2-0 lead until the top of the seventh when the Indians tallied two runs to knot the score. Altamont then came through with three runs in the eighth.

Jacob Hammer hit a two-run homer for the Indians. Dawson Guerrettaz had two singles.

Alek Biggs picked up the pitching win on a one-hitter with one walk and nine strikeouts. He went 5.2 innings.

T-town's lone hits were by Dawson Smith and Luke Ungrund with a single and an RBI each.

T-town came back in the second contest to end the game in the fifth inning via the 10-run rule with a 10-0 victory.

Hayden Ruholl threw a no-hitter with no walks and seven strikeouts.

Meanwhile teammates were banging out eight hits led by M. Deters with three singles and two RBI, E. Wermert with a single, triple and two RBI and S. Bushur with a triple and an RBI.

T-town is now 14-2 on the season while Altamont is now 8-6.

At Vandalia

Mulberry Grove came out the champion in the Egyptian-Illini Conference Tournament Thursday.

The Aces trailed Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 1-0 until the fifth then tied the game. Mulberry Grove then won it with two runs in the sixth for a 3-2 victory.

W. Radloff had the lone extra base hit for CHBC with a double and an RBI. Q. Schlanser and B. Lowery had two singles each.

In the second contest, Brownstown/St. Elmo outlasted Ramsey, 16-15.

BSE held a 13-0 lead going into the fifth when Ramsey tallied 10 runs. But BSE was never headed in the contest.

Rosborough had two singles, a double and drove in four runs for the winners while Goldsborough had three singles. McWhorter added a single, double and two RBI and Pruett a single, double and an RBI. BSE improves to 6-7.

Mulberry Grove won with a 3-0 record followed by BSE with a 2-1 mark, CHBC at 1-2 and Ramsey at 0-4.

Dieterich broke a 1-1 tie with a run in the fourth and two more in the fifth for a 4-1 win over Odin/Patoka Thursday.

Bohnhoff picked up the win, going all seven innings, allowing three hits, no walks and striking out eight.

Westendorf led Dieterich in hitting with a triple and an RBI.
