NEW YORK -- It was two Effingham natives pitching in the same Major League baseball game Monday.

The New York Yankees played host to the Atlanta Braves and the game went 11 innings before the Braves pulled out a 2-0 victory.

In that game, Effingham High School graduate Chad Green came on in relief for the Yankees and went two innings, allowing no hits and striking out one.

Effingham St. Anthony's Dan Winkler came on to throw an inning for the Braves, didn't allow a hit, gave up one walk and had two strikeouts.

Winkler is on the left with his son Declan while Green is on the right. The photo was sent in from Jacob Bushue.
