CHICAGO -- Kris Bryant scored in the eighth to give the Chicago the go-ahead run as the Cubs took a 4-3 win over the Marlins at Wrigley Field Tuesday.

The game was tied at 3-3 when Bryant drew a walk and moved to second on a wild pitch. He then took third on a ground out. Victor Caratini then chopped a grounder to second baseman Starlin Castro, who threw home, but Bryant slid under the tag.

Caratini, a backup catcher, drove in the tying run in the sixth while David Bote, from Triple-A Iowa, hit a two-run double in the second as he was pinch-hitting. It was his first Major League RBI.

The Cubs were playing without Yu Darvish, Jason Heyward adn Javier Baez. Darvish has been ill while Heyward was on the concussion disabled lit and Baez had a tender groin. Baez pinch hit and then stayed in the game.

Twins 7, Cardinals 1

The St. Louis Cardinals are in an offensive slump. The squad is playing without Yadier Molina and Tommy Pham and can't seem to find the range offensively. That produced a 7-1 loss to the Minnesota Twins Tuesday.

They only had two hits on the day and one of those came off the bat of Jose Martinez who hit a home run. The Twins' pitchers retired 18 Cardinals hitters.

Errors also proved St. Louis' undoing as Marcell Ozuna misplayed a ball allowing a run to score in the fourth and Martinez had an error in the fifth.

The Twins' Eduardo Escobar hit a two-run homer in the seventh.

Mariner's Paxton Throws No-Hitter

The Seattle Mariners’ James Paxton became only the second Canadian to pitch a no-hitter and the first to do so in his home country as his team beat the Toronto Blue Jays 5-0 last night. Fans noted a bald eagle landed on him before a game last month and it may have been good luck.

Orioles Bundy Sets New Mark

Baltimore Orioles pitcher Dylan Bundy set a new mark for futility Tuesday night against Kansas City as he became the first pitcher in modern major league history to give up four home runs without recording an out. All told, Bundy gave up seven runs and exited after just 12 minutes.

Reds Acqiure Matt Harvey

The Cincinnati Reds have acquired pitcher Matt Harvey from the New York Mets for catcher Devin Mesoraco. The Mets had designated Harvey for assignment and had seven days to either trade or release him.

Blue Jays Osuna Charged

Toronto Blue Jays closer Roberto Osuna was charged with assaulting a woman early Tuesday morning and has been placed on administrative leave by Major League Baseball. The Blue Jays had scheduled an Osuna T-shirt giveaway at Wednesday night's game against the Seattle Mariners.
