Effingham Junior High School claimed a B game victory over Altamont Lutheran in baseball action Thursday, 12-3.

The Mustangs took a 4-3 opening inning lead and tallied runs in the second, fifth and sixth innings. EJHS had nine hits led by Perry with a double, triple and two RBI, Fox with a single, triple and three RBI, Matteson with two singles and Eaton with a double and three RBI.

Altamont Lutheran had singles from Robinson and Cornett.

EJHS is now 2-0 on the season.

Altamont leaped out to a 10-0 first inning lead and ended the game in the sixth via the 10 run rule over Ramsey, 16-4.

North Clay (Louisville) edged ahead 3-0 in the first inning then went on to beat Brownstown/St. Elmo 15-8.

Clifton led the winners with two singles, a double and three RBI while Ingram had two singles and four RBI, Weidner a single, homem run and four RBI and Bible a double and an RBI.

BSE was led by Rosborough with a single, home run and four RBI, Christensen two singles, a home run and two RBI and McWhorter with a single and double.

Charleston blanked Teutopolis 5-0 in action Thursday.

Landrus and Hess combined for a three-hitter with Landrus picking up the victory.

Charleston banged out 12 hits led by Herrington with a single, double and triple.

T-town was led by Wermert, Hardiek and Niebrugge with a single each.
