Area Players To Compete In Junior High Baseball All-Star Showcase

Area players will be competing in the Junior High All-Star Baseball Showcase October 11-12 at Lenz Field & Sports Complex in Jacksonville.

All eighth-grade All-Star teams will play three pool play games. After pool play, each pool will be seeded anad teams will match up for championship play vs. same seeded oppenents from the other pools.

Local eighth-grade players will be competing for the Southeast All-Stars. Players include Kyle Pemberton (Effingham), Parker Siner (Effingham), Jared Kollmann (Altamont), Connor Reardon (Altamont), Mitch Hardiek (Teutopolis), Mitch Hemmen (Teutopolis), Brennen Burkett (Palestine), Drew Carroll (Ramsey), Drew Masset (Ramsey), Cameron Sharp (Mount Olive) and Killan Vann (Mount Olive).

The Southeast squad will compete in Pool A along with West Central, North and West teams. Pool B includes Central, Northwest, Southwest and North Central squads.

The Southeast All-Stars will play Saturday at 2:30 p.m. against the West Central All-Stars and at 7:30 p.m. against the West All-Stars. Then in Sunday play, Southeast will be competing at 10 a.m. against the North All-Stars. From there the schedule will be decided by wins and losses.
