Brandon Moss felt as if he got a new baseball life after he was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday.

"It was like I won the lottery," he said. "I've got a smile on my face all the time now."

Moss recorded his first big hit with St. Louis, a pinch-hit game-ending single in the ninth inning, and Randal Grichuk had a two-run homer to lead the Cardinals to a 3-2 win over the Colorado Rockies on Sunday.

Moss' one-out hit to left off reliever Scott Oberg (2-2) drove in Jason Heyward, who doubled with one away.

Closer Trevor Rosenthal (2-2) pitched a perfect inning for the win. The Cardinals have won nine of 12 and have a major league-best 40-16 mark at home. Colorado has lost four of five.

Cubs 4, Brewers 3

Kris Bryant left the game feeling a little woozy. Hector Rondon nearly squandered a three-run lead in the ninth inning. Joe Maddon got ejected.

The Chicago Cubs still departed Milwaukee on Sunday with a four-game sweep of the Brewers after an eventful 4-3 win.

The best part of all for the Cubs following their fifth straight win is they're at least 10 games over .500 at 57-47 for first time since end of 2008 season, according to STATS.

"It's good to get 10-plus. The goal then is to get (to) 15," Maddon said.

Spot-starter Clayton Richard (2-0) and the Cubs' bullpen limited the Brewers until the ninth, when Rondon allowed the first two runners to reach base with his team leading 4-1.

Ryan Braun scored on a groundout with one out, and Hernan Perez drove in another run with a two-out single. Rondon then got pinch-hitter Logan Schafer to line out sharply to center for his 16th save. The Brewers have lost five straight and eight of their last nine games.

Yankees 12, White Sox 3

From Jacoby Ellsbury all the way down to Stephen Drew at the bottom of the lineup, the New York Yankees bashed their way to a winning road trip.

Ellsbury and Mark Teixeira homered against Jeff Samardzija, and the Yankees pounded the Chicago White Sox 12-3 on Sunday.

Drew added three hits and four RBI, helping the AL East-leading Yankees close out a 6-4 trip to Minnesota, Texas and Chicago -- matching a season long. Chase Headley, Didi Gregorius and Drew -- the bottom three hitters in the order -- combined for seven hits, six RBI and eight runs scored.
