Teutopolis Advances to Final Four w/Shutout Victory

The Teutopolis Wooden Shoes advanced to the Final Four in the Class 2A State Baseball Tournament Friday with a 2-0 win over Glasford Illini Bluffs in East Peoria.

The Shoes plated both of their runs in the bottom of the second, while Clint Weber pitched a three-hit shutout, striking out four.

Weber also helped at the plate, doubling in one of the two Teutopolis runs. Mitch Apke had two hits and Mitch Hemmen picked up the other T-Town hit. Apke and Kendal Zumbahlen scored the two Teutopolis runs.

With the victory, Teutopolis improved to 17-5 on the fall. They next play at noon today against Bismarck-Henning. The winner will play for the championship at 4:30pm, the loser will play at 2:30 for third place.
