Effingham 2-2 at Greenville Tourney, Shelby Co. 0-4

GREENVILLE -- Effingham Post 120 finished with a 2-2 record at the Greenville Senior Legion Baseball Tournament during the weekend.

In Saturday action at Robert E. Smith Field, Greenville College, Effingham pounded Piatt County 15-5. Effingham then lost to eventual champion Mattoon 5-3.

Shelby County lost to Florissant 8-1 then fell to New Baden 7-4.

Mattoon Post 88 won the tourney, going 5-0 for the meet. Mattoon beat Florissant, Mo. 10-4 Sunday for the championship. Mattoon is now 9-0 on the season.
