Lynn Fans 10 As Cards Crush Braves

(Jupiter, FL) -- Lance Lynn struck out 10 batters in four innings as the Cardinals cruised to an 11-0 win over the Braves in Jupiter.  Lynn fanned eight in a row at one point and allowed just one hit and no walks to get the win. Xavier Scruggs drove in three runs for St. Louis. Freddy Garcia took the loss.

Top prospect Oscar Taveras is heading to the minors. The 21-year-old outfielder has been optioned to Triple-A Memphis in the latest round of spring roster cuts. Pitcher Eric Fornataro and catcher Audry Perez were also cut, leaving the Cardinals with 46 players in major league camp.


White Sox Fall To Angels

(Tempe, AZ) -- Jose Quintana gave up seven runs on six hits in three innings of work as the White Sox fell 8-6 to the Angels. Blake Tekotte hit a two-run homer while Jordan Danks and Matt Davidson each had two hits. Micah Johnson drove in three runs in the loss. The White Sox are back in action today as Dylan Axelrod will make the start.


Cubs Host Dodgers in Cactus League

(Mesa, AZ) -- The Cubs are back in action today as they host the Los Angeles Dodgers in Cactus League play. The Cubs are 6-8 in Spring Training so far with a .231 batting average and a team earned run average of 5.52 entering todays contest. Kyle Hendricks will toe the rubber for Chicago today against Josh Beckett of the Dodgers.
