About Dakota

My name is Dakota Esker and I was born and raised in the small town of Teutopolis, IL. When I was 18, I started to write, sing and play guitar. I have been pursuing a music business degree and attending guitar classes at SIU Carbondale. In my free time, I have taken singing lessons with Pamela Moore. I am always trying to improve my guitar and vocal skills. My short term goal right now, is to put together a demo CD of my original music. I have gained experience performing in front of crowds at the Effingham County Fair Talent Show and open mic nights at a local bar in Carbondale.

Playing and singing country music is my passion, but I also enjoy other genres of music like oldies, rock and blues. Music makes everyday life enjoyable and I'm always anxious to learn more ways to improve my talent.
