Betty K. Stein-Brown, 86, of Altamont died at 6:49 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2014 at St. John’s Hospital, Springfield.
 
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 27, 2014 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont with Rev. Dr. Lowell Donnelley officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Altamont. Visitation will be for two hours prior to service time. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society or E.A.R.S.
 
Betty was born on Wednesday, January 26, 1927 to Eugene Lester and Nancy Maude Smith Mesnard in Altamont, IL. She married Adrian Stein on April 10, 1947. She then married Joseph Brown. Besides being a mother and a wife she had worked at Norge and World Color Press both of Effingham and had been a waitress at Stuckey’s Carriage Inn, Altamont.
 
She is survived by; her sons, Larry E. Stein and his wife Janet of Effingham, Craig Stein and his wife Sherry of Altamont and Richard ‘Scott’ Stein of Effingham, her daughter, Dee Adria Robeson and her husband Mark of Altamont, eight grandchildren; Philip Stein, Troy (Jennifer), Travis (Shelli), Nicky (Megan), and Ricky (Sarah) Stein, Jenniffer (Chris) Hartzell and Desiree Woods and seven great grandchildren.
 
She was preceded in death by; her parents, sister, Verle Stiff, brother, Kenneth Mesnard and granddaughter, Shannon Robeson Thilker.
