Alice Rosalie Miller, age 79, of Newton, IL passed away at 6:30 AM – Monday, December 09, 2013 at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM – Thursday, December 12, 2013 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, IL with Fr. Al Kemme and Deacon Larry Miller celebrating mass.  Visitation will be held 5:00-8:00 PM – Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at the church and ½ hour before the mass in the church.  Burial to follow in New St. Peter Cemetery, Newton.  Memorials may be made to the Jasper County Cancer Fund P.O. Box 333 Newton, IL 62448 or for Masses.  Arrangements are under the care of the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL.

Alice Rosalie was born on February 21, 1934 in South Muddy Township, Jasper County, IL the daughter of David and Edna (Kingery) Marshall.  She married Ralph Miller on November 23, 1953 and he survives.  Rosalie attended grade school at College Hill and Pleasant Ridge in Jasper County and graduated from Newton Community High School in 1951.  Rosalie was a secretary at the Jasper County Farm Bureau for many years and later she sold Electrolux Vacuums and worked at SEI.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and the Altar Society.
Rosalie is survived by: Husband of 60 years – Ralph Miller of Newton, IL...4 Children – David (Sharon) Miller of Effingham, IL, Danny (Laura) Miller of Newton, IL, Dennis (Jodi) Miller of Newton, IL and Patty (Marc) Leist of Calhoun, IL...1 Sister – Donna Smallwood of Newton, IL...3 Brothers – Delane (Marlene) Marshall of Olney, IL, Howard (Brenda) Marshall of Salem, IL and Herbert (Carole) Marshall of Willow Hill, IL...11 Grandchildren...8 Great Grandchildren...and Several Nieces and Nephews.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents, brother David Marshall, Jr.; Sister-in-Laws Peg Marshall, Rosemary Miller, Lola Miller and Marjorie Miller; Brother-in-Laws Maurice Miller, Ed Miller, Roscoe Miller, Bernard Miller, Bobby Koontz and Duane Smallwood; 1 nephew and 1 great grandchild.
Rosalie will be sadly missed but fondly remembered.
