Roy Albert Jayne, age 82 of Newton, IL passed away at 5:00 PM – Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM – Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL with Leland Collins officiating. Burial will be in the Tate Cemetery in rural Bogota, IL with full military rites by the Jasper Post #20 American Legion. Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon until the service time. Roy was born on February 21, 1931 in rural Bogota, IL the son of Virgil Henry and Essie (Worthey) Jayne. He married Mary Ellen Matthews on December 17, 1977 and she survives.
Roy was a union Carpenter through the Carpenters Union #347. He was able to build or fix anything or do whatever need to be done. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and raising flowers.
Roy served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and stationed in Germany.
Roy was a lifetime member of the Newton VFW Post #7537.

Cindy (Wayne) Finney of Newton, IL
Stephen (Monica) Lutz of Newton, IL
Sister – Leona Pearl Jayne of Carmargo, IL
Several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews also survive.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, 2 children Judy Molter and Martha Joann Lutz; 3 brothers Leonard, Chet and Vic Jayne and a sister Fern Pickett.
