Georgiann Kuhl, 83, of Effingham, Illinois, formerly of Wendlin died at 4:10 p.m. Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Lakeland Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Effingham.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, November 11 at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wendelin. Reverend Father Mark Stec will officiate. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Wendelin. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Wendelin. Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney is in charge of arrangements. Georgiann was born February 1, 1930 in Clay County, the daughter of Coelestine and Margaret (Kessler) Nix. She married Herman W. Kuhl August 26, 1952 in Wendelin. She enjoyed quilting and tending to her flowers and garden.

She is survived by sons, David (wife Susan) Kuhl of Quincy, Richard (wife Tracy) Kuhl of Troy, Mich., Gregor (wife Lori) Kuhl of Effingham; daughter, Alice Lee of Coal Valley; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, December 19, 2005 and three brothers, Norbert, Delbert and Joe Nix.
