Justine I. “Jinx” Plummer, 96, of Effingham, IL, passed away at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, September 21, 2013, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham, with the Rev. Roger Marshall officiating. Burial will be in Arborcrest Memorial Park, Effingham. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Justine was born on March 5, 1917, in Jewett, IL, the daughter of Frank and Iva (Stainbrook) Hooker. She married William T. Plummer in 1938 and he preceded her in death on November 23, 1997.  Jinx was retired as a seamstress from the Illinois Glove Factory. She loved flowers and her cat, Thomas. She especially loved her family and would do anything for them.

Jinx is survived by her sons, David Plummer and James (Velda) Plummer, both of Effingham; sister, Beverly Marshall of Mattoon; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; sister, Audrey Mitchell; and brother, Russell Hooker.
