Viola M. Engelbart, 89, of Montrose went to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, September 12, 2013 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Wheeler, with Rev. Stephen P. Gillet officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 14th at Hall Funeral Chapel in Effingham and 30 minutes prior to the service at the church on Sunday.  Memorials can be made to St. Paul’s Cemetery or donor’s choice. Viola was born November 21, 1923 in Sigel the daughter of Frank and Emma (Czerwonka) Bushur. She married Norman Engelbart on December 5, 1944 and he preceded her in death.
Viola was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Wheeler, St. Paul’s Ladies Aid and Jasper County Farm Bureau.

Survivors include her son; Gary (wife, Cherie) Engelbart of Montrose, grandsons; Jon (wife, Valarie) Engelbart of Montrose and Matt Engelbart of St. Louis, great-grandson; Xavier Engelbart.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Norman.
