Glynis Mae Wright, age 92, of St. Elmo, Illinois passed away at 8:03 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2024 in Springfield, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 29, 2024 at New Horizon Church in St. Elmo with a one-hour visitation prior to the service. PeeWee Denton will be officiating. Interment will be at Springhill Cemetery in St. Elmo. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2024 at New Horizon Church in St. Elmo. Glynis was born on March 16, 1931 in Avena Township, Illinois, the daughter of Robert and Maude (Hobsin) Haslett. She married Joseph “Dwight” Wright on October 23, 1948 at Assembly of God in St. Elmo. Glynis was a former lifelong member of Assembly of God in St. Elmo. She enjoyed music, going to the opry, and gardening. She was known for her cooking, her nak for taking care of people, and her impeccable ability to remember everyone’s birthdays.

She is survived by her sons, Allen Wright (wife Sherry) of Beecher City, Dennis Wright of St. Elmo, Kevin Wright (wife Denise) of Brownstown and Darrin Wright (wife Cheryl) of St. Elmo; daughters, Carol Dial of St. Elmo, Brenda McConkey of Brownstown; Kathy Knierim of Effingham, and Diane Hoehne (husband Steve) of Farina; brothers, Don Haslett (wife Cathy) of Colorado, Bill Haslett of Kentucky and Joe Haslett (wife Jamie) of Springfield, Missouri; sister, Twila Presnell of Nakomis; daughter-in-law, Gala Wright of St. Elmo; 19 grandchildren, 36 great- grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Maude Haslett; husband, Joseph “Dwight” Wright; son, Rick Wright; sons-in-law, Lee Dial, Miles McConkey, and Dale Knierim; daughter-in-law, Bertha Wright; and 14 siblings.
