Irma Jean Robinson “Jeanie” Murray, 84, of Waycross died Saturday afternoon January 20, 2024 at Bayview Nursing Home in Nahunta, Georgia after an extended illness.

Mrs. Murray was born in Arthur, Illinois to the late Claude Robinson and Ellen Roberts Robinson and made Waycross her home for several years. She worked in retail for many years at the old Pick-N-Save stores, after retirement she kept working but as a loving grandmother. She sewed, cooked, and helped keep and love on her grandchildren as they grew. She enjoyed a good lifetime show and laying in the sun. Mrs. Murray was a member of Jamestown United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday January 25, 2024, at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL. Visitation will also be on Thursday January 25, 2024, from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Greenup Cemetery.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rudy Murray; a stepdaughter, Becky Murray; four siblings, Judy Moore Robinson, Annie Sowers, Duane Robinson and Billy Robinson (Karen).

Mrs. Murray is survived by two sons, George Murray of Blackshear, Mason Murray wife Carla of Waycross; a stepson, Mike Murray wife Debbie of Las Vegas, Nevada; four grandchildren, Megan Waldron husband Josh, Johnathan Murray wife Hali, Caleb Murray, Wesley Murray; two great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Waldron, Maebreigh Waldon; two siblings, Jimmy Robinson wife Brenda, Janie James husband Roger; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
