Dean R. Gengler, 69, passed away peacefully in his Effingham, IL home on Thursday, January 11, 2024.
A private family service and a celebration with friends will take place at a later date. Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham is assisting the family. Dean, the son of Raymond and Marjorie Gengler, was born on September 13, 1954 in Remsen, IA. He was blissfully married to Betty Morgan for 44 years and a proud father of four to Brooke, Nicole (Zach), Kelsey (Brandon), and Nate (Sylvia). Dean is also survived by his three adorable grandsons: Dane, Kayce, and Nolan. Dean is remembered with love by his wife, children, grandchildren, mother Marjorie, and sisters Deb, Cindy, and Sheila, along with their families. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond, and grandparents.
