James Huelskoetter (82) Altamont

James Huelskoetter, 82, of Altamont, died at 8:40 p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont with Rev. David Speers officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at St. Paul ‘Blue Point’ Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Paul ‘Blue Point’ Lutheran Church, Altamont.
James Arthur Huelskoetter was born on Thursday, May 1, 1941 in Vandalia to Arthur and Charlotte (Ziegler) Huelskoetter. He married Carol Ann Griffith on June 17, 1962 at St. Paul ‘Blue Point’ Lutheran Church. He was retired from Bridgestone/Firestone, Decatur after 36 years and was also a farmer. He was a member of St. Paul ‘Blue Point’ Lutheran Church where he served in various capacities.
In addition to his wife of over 61 years, Carol of Altamont, he is survived by his son, Timothy Huelskoetter of Altamont; daughter, Sherry (Kenny) Schumacher of Altamont; and two grandchildren, Bradley Ray Schumacher and Blake Timothy Huelskoetter.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
