Darlene's life was one of service and creativity. She was a lifelong beautician, a career that showcased her artistic talent and her ability to connect with people. Her caring nature also led her to cook at the Shelbyville schools and work at the Plaza Boutique, where she was beloved by both colleagues and those she served. Her creative passions extended into her personal life as a lifelong seamstress and a lifetime of being known as the “cookie lady.” Her hands were rarely still, as she was always involved in a project or planning the next.
